Treatment Courts in Idaho
Idaho’s Treatment Courts provide a proven, community-based approach for individuals whose substance use disorders, mental health needs, or related behaviors have brought them into the justice system. These courts redirect eligible participants away from jail or prison and into structured treatment, supervision, and accountability programs that support long-term recovery.
Research shows that Treatment Courts reduce re-arrest rates, improve treatment outcomes, reunite families, and lower public costs. Idaho operates Treatment Courts in every judicial district, supported by statewide standards and a coordinated system of judicial, behavioral health, and community partners.
