New Court Administrator Picked for Southwest Idaho
Chris Paulsen will become the next trial court administrator (TCA) for the Third Judicial District. He will succeed current TCA Benita Miller, who retires effective July 31.
A trial court administrator keeps local courts running smoothly. They help manage court operations and implement court programs across each of Idaho’s seven judicial districts. The Third Judicial District covers southwest Idaho, including Adams, Canyon, Gem, Owyhee, Payette and Washington counties.
Paulsen has been the district's deputy TCA for the past two years. Prior to that, he served as family court services manager for the district and as a public-school counselor and threat assessor. He is a certified court executive through the National Center for State Courts.
His new role begins August 3.
"I am grateful for the confidence that has been placed in me and deeply honored to serve as the trial court administrator," Paulsen said. "The Third Judicial District is comprised of an exceptional team of dedicated public servants, and it is a privilege to continue serving the people of Idaho alongside them."
“His service-focused approach has already made Chris integral to our courts. We are delighted to have him step up to this role,” Administrative District Judge Thomas Whitney said.
“Chris’ selection means an experienced hand and a smooth transition for the courts in his district. I look forward to seeing what he does with his new position,” said state Administrative Director of Courts Sara Omundson.
