Tresha Griffiths

Judicial Assistant

Chief Justice Robyn M. Brody was first elected to the Idaho Supreme Court in November 2016. She has been a member of the Idaho State Bar for nearly 30 years and practiced law in the Magic Valley before joining the Court. Her practice focused primarily on complex civil litigation as well as real estate and commercial transactions. She served as outside counsel for a leading agricultural business and represented multiple school districts and health care entities. In the later years of her practice, her work focused substantially on water law.

She graduated from the University of Denver in 1997, earning a law degree and a master’s degree in international business. While in law school, she worked as a Russian translator for a uranium company in Denver. Chief Justice Brody moved to Twin Falls shortly after graduating from law school with her husband, Jonathan. They later moved to Rupert where she established a solo law practice. While in private practice, she served as the president of the Fifth District Bar Association and the Theron W. Ward American Inn of Court. She also received the Idaho State Bar Association’s Professionalism Award in 2014.

Chief Justice Brody has chaired the Court’s Pro Bono Commission and the Court’s Language Access Committee since she took office. She is also the Court’s liaison to the Children and Families in the Courts Committee, the Child Protection Committee, and the Child Support Guidelines Committee. She has also been an adjunct professor at the University of Idaho College of Law where she taught a small law firm management practicum and at Concordia Law School where she taught trial practice. She spends time volunteering to strengthen Idaho’s legal community by participating in numerous continuing legal education seminars and truly enjoys working with Idaho’s school children. One of her favorite parts of a being a Supreme Court Justice is having the privilege of giving tours of the Supreme Court to many of Idaho’s fifth graders. Chief Justice Brody was awarded the Idaho Women Lawyers’ Notable Achievement of the Year Award in 2017 after her successful statewide election campaign and received the Idaho State Bar Association’s Service Award in 2024.

Chief Justice Brody and her husband have been married for over 30 years, and the couple has two sons in college.
