Judicial Vacancies

The Fifth Judicial District Magistrates Commission is currently recruiting for two (2) Magistrate Judge positions to fill the vacancies created by the retirement of the Honorable Casey U. Robinson in Gooding County and the Honorable Thomas D. Kershaw, Jr. in Twin Falls County. These positions will be chambered at the Gooding County Courthouse and the Twin Falls County Court Facility, respectively.

Twin Falls

Applications for the Twin Falls County magistrate position are currently closed. Public comment on the applicants was due to the Trial Court Administrator's Office by September 25, 2026. Interview date: TBD

Gooding

Six attorneys have applied for the Gooding County magistrate position:

The opportunity for public comment on these applicants is now open. Questionnaires are available through the link below or from the Trial Court Administrator's Office. Completed comments must be returned to Trial Court Administrator Sadie Fisher at the address below, no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
